Host Partner, Glasgow Retrofit Summit 2025. To create jobs, improve the quality of housing, and deliver on our shared commitment to net zero carbon emissions we will develop a proposal to deliver a housing energy efficiency retrofit programme.

The Existing Homes Alliance is a coalition of housing, environmental, fuel poverty, consumer and industry organisations calling for urgent action to transform Scotland’s existing housing stock.
SUPPORTING ENERGY CONSCIOUS HOME IMPROVEMENT IN GLASGOW
We’ve built a novel community-based approach to home energy decarbonisation. We reduce the hassle of maintaining and improving homes. We’re a co-operative and welcome the involvement of householders, building professionals and local trades. while incorporating energy efficiency and decarbonisation measures.
We exist to represent, support and connect our members. Housing associations and co-operatives provide affordable, quality homes and foster thriving communities by collaborating with partners and tenants.
With more than 1,400 colleagues working across the country in schools, careers centres and partner locations, we are passionate about skills development and its contribution to a modern, innovative and prosperous Scottish economy.
At the heart of the University of Glasgow since 1807, The Hunterian connects people with stories, individuals and ideas. We are committed to becoming a more ethical institution which critically reflects on the past, is relevant in the present and contributes to a more equitable future for all.
Retrofitting the UK’s housing stock to make it more energy efficient is an important factor in meeting the net zero emissions targets necessary for tackling climate change.  Academics at the University of Glasgow are working on a pilot initiative to retrofit a Glasgow tenement building. The project will provide lessons on how this could be expanded across the city’s housing stock.
